Aloha!

Hi, my name is Ashley.  There's a good chance you're confused because of my name and you're on the Taryn Reid Blog.  Alright, let me break it down...TARYN is my middle name and REID is my husband's first name. When I started my business I took both our whole names and smacked it up. flipped it. and rubbed it down. and out came TARYN REID PHOTOGRAPHY!...HOLLA!

I'm appreciative and thankful, I laugh out loud a lot, I love a good comedy, I love to meet new people and I try to stay in touch with old friends (thank you Facebook).  I can talk for hours about the iphone because I think it's the best invention ever.  I'm independent but dependent if that makes any sense.  I'm big on hugs and if you're on a shoot with me don't be shocked when I hug you at end of the session.  That's just how I roll :)

I'm currently working on my website so my blog will have my most recent work.  I'll also be posting freebies if I come across them, giveaways of my own, and random things I feel worthy or sharing.

Mahalo for stopping by!

A walk in the park

A casual meeting in the park turned out great. Sancha and Kevin called me because they were in town and were soon leaving to go back to the mainland. It was a frantic weekend but I wanted to make sure I could meet their little girl. This almost 1 year old already got a lot of spunk. I loved it. She made it very clear from the beginning that she wasn’t having my “sit on the grass” idea. What was I thinking???  Luckily, as she was on the verge of screaming at me daddy flew in and scooped her off her feet and started doing the clock.  Side to side “tick, tock, tick, tock.” It’s their thing. It definitely cracked me up. She’s Daddy’s girl for sure:)  Watching them play made me smile ear to ear the whole session. I knew with Sancha and Kevin as my back up baby girl and I would be good friends.  And we did.  I’ve got the best job in the world. lam1lam2lam3Even after putting her on the blanket on the grass she still gave me the look but it was brief.  We changed her mood with a little snack.  lam4a1lam5alam6In the end all was forgotten and we giggled about the whole “sitting on the grass” misunderstanding:)lam7

May 7, 2009 - 1:20 am Ashley - @YMBMom - Yes she really wasn't amused with the "maybe she'll like it on the blanket" whisper to her mother. She wanted to make sure I knew who the real boss was :) @Alisa - Keoki must be your brother because he said the same thing..haha @San - Thank you for letting me photograph your little one. I'll do it again...anytime!

May 6, 2009 - 9:13 pm Alisa - Great pictures, my favorite is hands in the lap.

May 6, 2009 - 6:12 pm YMBMom - ooooooo... you can tell she really didn't like the grass by the "eagle-eye" she gave you!!! But the pix of her are so cute regardless!!! So adorable!!!
